Walnut Grove

The design approach focused on bringing in a touch of wood across materials, adding warmth and continuity throughout the space. The palette was kept soft and soothing to maintain a calm, comfortable atmosphere. The overall concept was to build a room that feels balanced, tactile, and quietly cohesive.

The Space

This project combines a 2+1 jodi flat into a well-planned 3.5 BHK, achieved through minimal yet strategic civil interventions.

The wall between the two units was opened up to create a seamless, spacious layout. The kitchen planning was optimized by retaining one as the main kitchen, converting the second into a utility, and transforming an underutilized kitchen area into a study room Of the two common washrooms, one was repurposed as a utility space, while the other was retained for regular use. Select walls were also modified to accommodate larger, more functional wardrobes.

Client Requirement

The client wanted a home that feels calm and comfortable, without using too many colours. The idea was to keep it simple, while still making it feel warm and lived-in. We added subtle metal elements and a few rich prints to bring in some depth, without making the space feel heavy. A hint of colour was introduced carefully, just enough to break the monotony.

A swing was important to the family, and we also created a dedicated space for Shrinathji, keeping their traditions and daily rituals in mind.

The Result

The outcome is a home that feels calm, functional, and thoughtfully put together. The planning ensures better use of space, with each area serving a clear purpose without feeling forced or overcrowded.

The restrained colour palette, layered materials, and subtle detailing come together to create a space that feels warm and comfortable, yet refined. Elements like the swing and the Shrinathji space add a personal layer, making the home feel connected to the family’s lifestyle and values.

Overall, it’s a home that balances practical needs with a sense of ease, designed to support everyday living in a simple, considered way.
